(i) Answer all the questions. Some questionts have internal choice. Marl<s are indicated against each question.

(ii) Answer to questions carrying 2 marlcs (Part - A, 1 to 3) should not exceed 30 words each.

(iii) Answer to questions carrying 5 marks (Part - B, Section - I to lV,'Question Nos. 4 - 11) should not exceed 100 words each. P based question. 

(iv) Answer to questions carrying 10 marla (Pafi C, Questions 12 and 13) should not exceed 5A0 words each.

(v) Part D questions are based on three sources. (Internal Choice) (Part D, questions 14, 15' 16)

(v) Attach the map with the answer scripts (Part E questions 17.1 and 17.2 ).

2. Mention any two features of Neo-Gothic style of architecture in Bombay.

3.Who were Alvars and Nayanars ? Mention the support they got from the Chola rulers.

4.Explain how did Harappans maintain contact with distant lands.

5. ‘‘The central story of Mahabharata reinforced the idea of kinship and succession.’’ Explain.

6.Describe the factors that led to the growth of Puranic Hinduism in India during 6th century BCE.

7.How were the subsistence and commercial production closely intertwined in an average peasant’s holding during the Mughal period in 16th and 17th centuries ? Explain.

8. Mention any two architectural traditions that inspired the architects of Vijayanagara. How did they transform these traditions into temple architecture ? Explain.

9.Critically examine the experience of the ryots on the refusal of moneylenders to extend loans to them after 1830.

10.Why did the British not have an easy time in putting down the rebellion of 1857 ? Give reasons.
