Introduction to UGC NET 

The National Eligibility Test (NET), popularly known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, defines the examination for deciding the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) awards or the post of assistant professor in Indian Universities. The University Grants Commission authorizes the National Testing Agency to conduct this examination every year. The responsibility of conducting the NET examination was passed to the National Testing Agency's shoulder in December 2018, which was earlier conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), till July 2018. According to the current examination mechanism of NET, the tests are conducted twice a year, under NTA's supervision in June and December through online modes.
