About Karnataka Board - KSEEB & KTBS
Karnataka - "The Elevated Land" is a state located in the southwestern region of India, originally known as Mysore and renamed Karnataka in 1973. It is the only southern state to share land borders with all four southern sister states. Karnataka's education system is managed by two key bodies: the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB), established in 1966, which oversees Classes 1–10 and conducts the SSLC examination annually for over 8 lakh students across 3,000 exam centres; and the Department of Pre-University Education (PUE), which handles Classes 11–12 for over 10 lakh students. Textbooks are published by the Karnataka Textbook Society (KTBS), available in English, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu mediums. The board digitised most examination-related activities from 2017–18. KSEEB headquarters is in Bengaluru, with divisional offices in Belgaum, Kalaburgi, and Mysore.
