Past Tense
Past Tense is used to indicate an action, event or condition that has happened in the past.

Past Tense is divided into four parts :-
1) Simple past / Past Indefinite
2) Past Continuous
3) Past Perfect
4) Past Perfect Continuous

Simple Past/ Past Indefinite
The simple past is used to show that a completed action took place at a specific time in the past. The simple past is also frequently used to talk about past habits and generalizations.
Affirmative:- Subject + 2nd form of verb
Ex. She went to the market.
Negative :- Subject + did not + 1st form of verb
Ex. She didn't go to the market.
Interrogative :- Did +Subject +1st form of verb
Ex. Did she go to the market ?
Past Continuous Tense
The past continuous tense, also known as the past progressive tense, refers to a continuing action or state that was happening at some point in the past. ... There are many situations in which tense might be used in a sentence. For example, it is often used to describe conditions that existed in the past.
Affirmative :- Subject + was/were + 1st form of verb + ing.
Ex. She was going to the market.
They were going to the market.
Negative :- Subject + was/were + not + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex. She was not going to the market.
They were not going to the market.
Interrogative was/ were + Subject + 1st form of the verb + ing
Ex. Was she going to the market ?
Were they going to the market ?
Past Perfect Tense
The past perfect continuous is used to show that an action started in the past and continued up to another point in the past.
Affirmative:- Subject + had + 3rd form of verb
Ex. She had gone to the market.
Negative :- Subject + had + not + 3rd form of verb
Ex. She had not gone to the market.
Interrogative:- Had + Subject + 3rd form of verb
Ex. Had she gone to the market?
Past Perfect Continuous Tense
The past perfect continuous is used to show that an action started in the past and continued up to another point in the past.
Affirmative:- Subject + had + been + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex. She had been going to the market.
Negative:- Subject + had + not + been + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex. She had not been going to the market.
Interrogative:- Had + Subject + been + 1st form of verb + ing

Present tense is divided into four parts

The simple present tense is used:
To express habits, general truths, repeated actions or unchanging situations, emotions and wishes:
I smoke (habit); I work in London (unchanging situation); London is a large city (general truth)
To give instructions or directions:

Simple Present :-
# Affirmative: - Subject + 1st form of Verb + 1st form of verb +s/es
Ex. She works in a bank.
* They work in a bank.
# Negative :- Subject + do / does + not + 1st form of verb
Ex. She does not work in a bank.
# Interrogative :- Do/ Does + Subject + 1st form of verb
Ex. Does she work in a bank.

Present Continuous Tense
The present continuous tense indicates that an action or condition is happening now, frequently, and may continue into the future.

Present Continuous Tense
# Affirmative :- Subject + is/ am/are + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex:-
Radha is going to school.
I am going to school.
They are going to school.
# Negative :- Subject + is/am/ are + not + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex:-
She is not going to school.
I am not going to school.
They are not going to school.
# Interrogative :- Is/Am/Are + subject + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex:-
Is she going to school ?
Am I going to school ?
Are they going to school ?

Present Perfect Tense
The present Perfect tense expresses an action which happened in the past and completed at the present time.
Present Perfect Tense
# Affirmative :- Subject + has/have + 3rd form of verb
Ex.-
She has gone to the school.
They have gone to the school.
# Negative :- Subject + has/have + not + 3rd form of the Verb
Ex.:-
She has not gone to the school.
They have not gone to the school.
# Interrogative :- Has/Have + subject + 3rd form of the Verb
Ex.:-
Has she gone to the school ?
Have they gone to the school ?

Present perfect continuous
The present perfect continuous tense (also known as the present perfect progressive tense) shows that something started in the past and is continuing at the present time.
Affirmative :- Subject + has / have + been + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex.
Radha has been doing her work since morning.
Negative:- Subject + has/have + not + been + 1st form of verb + ing.
Ex.
Radha has not been doing her work since morning.
Interrogative :- Has/Have + subject + been + 1st form of verb + ing
Ex.
Has Radha doing her work since morning ?
