4 Amit is running an 'Advertising agency' and earning a lot by providing this service to big industries. State whether the working capital requirement of the firm will be 'less' or 'more'. Give reason in support of your answer.1

5 Tax benefit is available only in case of payment of interest and not on the payment of preference dividend. Why? 1

6 Reshu's father has gifted her shares of a large cement company, with which he had been working. The securities were in physical form.She already has a bank account and does not possess any other forms of securities. She wished to sell the shares and approached a registered broker for the purpose. Mention one mandatory detail which she will have to provide with the broker.

7 How does inflation affect the working capital requirement of a company? 1 

8 It is the belief of Namitha Garments Pvt ltd that if the quality of goods/services is good then the customer can be easily attracted. On the basis of this thinking the company directs its marketing efforts towards improving the quality of its product. Identify the marketing philosophy as mentioned in the above paragraph. 1

9 Zenith Ltd. is a highly reputed company and many people wanted to join this company. The employees of this organization are very happy and they discussed how they came in contact with this organization. Aman said that he was introduced by the present Sales manager,Mr. John. Benu said that he had applied through the newspaper and was appointed as H.R Manager. Vaibhav said that he was neither related to any of the employee of the organization nor there was any advertisement in the newspaper even then he was directly called from liM Ahmedabad from where he was about to complete his MBA.

a) The above discussion is indicating an important function of management.

Name the function of management.

b) The management function identified in part (a) follows a particular process.

Explain the step of this process which is being discussed in the above paragraph.3

10 Saajan and Moni are working in the same organization but in different departments. One day at lunch time Moni informed that due to computerization many people are going to retrenched soon from the organization.Name which type of communication is this. State any two advantages of this type of communication.3

11 Direction is the least important function of management.Defend or refute with two valid reasons.3

12 Write any three responsibilities of supervisor. 3

13 How controlling helps in :

a) Accomplishing organizationalgoal

b) Judging accuracy of standards.3

14 Kiran Industries is company manufacturing office furniture. The company chose to diversify its operations to improve its growth potential and increase market share. As the project was important many alternatives were generated for the purpose and were thoroughly discussed amongst the members of the organization. After evaluating the various alternatives Sukhvinder, the Managing Director of the company decided that they should add 'Home Interiors and Furnishings' as a new line of business activity.

a) Name the framework,which the diversified organization should adopt, to enable it to cope with the emerging complexity? Give one reason in support of your answer.

b) State any two limitations of this framework

15 Mr. Nath,a recently appointed production manager of Suntech Ltd. has decided to produce jute bags instead of plastic bags as these are banned by the government. He set a target of producing 1000 jute bags a day. It was reported that the employees were not able to achieve the target. After analysis he found that employees were de motivated and not putting in their best for achieving the target.Mr. Nath's behavior is good towards the employees. His attitude is always positive.So he announced various incentive schemes for the employees like:

i)lnstalling award or certificate for best performance

ii) Rewarding an employee for giving valuable suggestions

iii)Congratulating the employees for good performance

a) Identify the functions of management highlighted.in the above paragraph.

b) State the' incentive' under which the employees are motivated.

c) State any two values which the production manager wants to communicate to the society by his work and behaviour. 4

16 Mrs. Rajlaxmi is working as the Human Resource Consultant in a firm manufacturing cosmetic,which is facing a problem of high employee turnover.The CEO of the company has invited suggestions from her for retaining the talented employees & reducing the employee turnover. Mrs. Rajlaxmi recommends that the good employees be rewarded in a way that it creates a feeling of ownership among the employees and at the same time makes them contribute towards the growth of the organization.

a) Identify the incentive and explain its type,which has been suggested

by Mrs. Rajlaxmi to the CEO of the company.

b) Also explain any two other incentives of the same type.
