Forms of Technical Translations
Every society seeks its human resource to have the knowledge of science and technology. Scientific and technical discourse is the most important field of knowledge. Hence, good translation of the different forms of technical register is required. As science and technology is developing so is their translation. Technical/scientific register presents a wide range of challenges to a translator, such as register-specific words, sentence pattern, technical and conceptual expression. Technical translators should have considerable knowledge about all major forms of technical register and skill in communicating them. For translation of the various forms of technical register certain facts should be considered:
(i) The Target language should possess the technical vocabulary. Or else the translator has to find an equivalent of the conceptual terms of the Source Text (ST) by creating an expression in terms of the formal register of the Target Text (TT).
