Forms of Technical Translations

Every society seeks its human resource to have the knowledge of science and technology. Scientific and technical discourse is the most important field of knowledge. Hence, good translation of the different forms of technical register is required. As science and technology is developing so is their translation. Technical/scientific register presents a wide range of challenges to a translator, such as register-specific words, sentence pattern, technical and conceptual expression. Technical translators should have considerable knowledge about all major forms of technical register and skill in communicating them. For translation of the various forms of technical register certain facts should be considered:

(i) Does the process description reveal its own specific form? If yes, should the translator of scientific process description be aware of it?
