Cancer has emerged as the second-leading cause of death globally after cardiovascular diseases.Proportion of deaths due to cancer around the world increased from12% in 1990 to 15% in 2013while thenumber of new cases almost doubled in India during the period.

In India,deaths from the disease have increased by 60%,according to the latest report 'Global Burden of Cancer-2013', released worldwide on Friday.

"Even if we adjust for the rise in population in India over this period, the new cancer cases have increased by 30% per unit population and deaths have risen by 10%, "says Lalit Dandona, co-author of the study and Professor at the Public Health Foundation of India and Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.

In 2013, there were 14.9 million new cancer cases registered globally, whereas 8.2 million people died due to the disease. The report is based on a global study of 28 cancer groups in 188 countries by a consortium of international researchers from University of Washington and Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation.

The report suggests that new cases of virtually all types of cancer are rising in countries globally -regardless of income-but the death rates from cancer are falling inmany countries primarily due to its prevention and treatment. However, it says there is a threat of increasing incidence in developing countries due to ill-equipped health systems.

While incidence of breast cancer is highest in India as well as globally, most number of cancer deaths in India are caused due to stomach cancer, which is globally the second most common reason for death.

1. Anywhere we go discipline is necessary in any institution whether it is an educational institution, or even in the political field, in social or religious matters, even on street and even while you are sitting in your own house. But unfortunately we note that discipline in our schools and colleges has perished. Students do not show respect to their teachers, misbehave in the classroom, organize strikes and try to take law in their hands. So an atmosphere of indiscipline is created which is a great setback not only to the individual, but to the nation also. Moreover, the teachers themselves do not show any discipline. They are also busy in strikes as to show their discontent against their pay scales, their posts and that affects their quality of teaching.

2. Similarly discipline is an important component of political and social life. Until and unless everybody follows the rules and regulations, proper satisfaction cannot be achieved. Many - a times you will find people out of their offices; government employees busy in chatting, ladies busy in knitting at the hours of their duty. All workers show indifference to their duties and hence the work and unattended files keep on accumulating. So if each person imposes on himself Dr herself discipline and performs his or her duty with devotion with devotion, there will be no problem. was neither Kabir, (a) famous saint, a Muslim nor a Hindu. 3. Even in public places, people create chaos due to in disciplined behavior.

People often show lack of law and order, while boarding buses etc. Black- marketing and hoarding and adulteration are also some of the examples of indiscipline. Eve - teasing is another example of irresponsible behaviour on the part of our youth. In the political sphere also, personal ambitions do come on the way and therefore they pose danger to the society.

4. Discipline is important even i..-·1domestic life. If children are grown up in an

atmosphere of love and brotherhood, they tend to be a good citizens.. It is the duty of parents to raise their children in an atmosphere conducive for everybody. The children from divorced parents and from broken homes are generally in disciplined. Therefore, parents should bring up their children in a disciplined manner.

5. So in today's society, it is very essential to live with co-operation, and brotherhood amongst each-other. Absence of discipline may lead to failure and backwardness of nation. But one can overcome these problems if everyone follows a personal code of conduct and a maintain self-discipline for prosperity of the nation.
