Asa  young  man  he  wasgreatly impressed by  Mahatma  Gandhi'ssuccess  in  the political field and  'the  power of ahimsa'.  King decided  tofollow  thepath of non-violence  andget  millions of  Blacks  their due.  Hefelt  that  theblacks  have  immensely contributed  towards the building of America ,and there was no reason whythey should not be treated  ·with respect.
