HOW TO START PAINT
 
To start Paint
 
1. Click the start button present on the bottom left corner taskbar.
2. Move the mouse pointer to All Programs.
3. Then click the Accessories.
4. Click Paint. The Paint window opens on the monitor screen.
 
COMPONENETS OF PAINT WINDOW
 
RIBBON
The Ribbonis divided in two parts: tabs and groups. Each tab contains command arranged in different groups.
 
TOOLS GROUP
It contains different tools such as Pencil, Eraser, Fill with color, Text, Pick color, Magnifier to draw various shapes. It also has brushes to make drawings.
 
SHAPES GROUP
It contains different shape styles such as Rectangle, Line, Circle, Triangle etc.
 
COLORS GROUP
It contains different color. You choose colors for your drawing. To choose a color, click on that color.
 
QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR
This is present just above the ribbon. It helps to do different function with just one click.
 
PAINT BUTTON
The Paint buttonis present just below the Quick Access Toolbar. It contains different menus to do different function in paint

 

DRAWING AREA

This is a blank white are in which you can make your drawing and do coloring. It is also called Working area.

 
LINE TOOL
Line toolis used to draw straight lines with different thickness. To draw a straight line, follow the given steps :
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Click the Line from the shapes group.
3. Click the size to choose the thickness of line.
4. Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area. The pointer changes to a cross.
5. Press and hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse, to where you wish the line to end.
6. Release the left mouse button. Aline is drawn.
 
HOW TO DRAW A COLORED LINE
 
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Click the Line from the shapes group.
3. Select any color from the colors group.
4. Move the mouse pointer to the drawing area. The pointer changes to a cross.
5. Press and hold the left mouse button and drag the mouse, to where you wish the line to end.
6. Release the left mouse button. A line is drawn.
 
RECTANGLE TOOL
 
Rectangle tool is used to draw rectangles or squares.
To draw a Rectangle, follow the given steps:
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Click the Rectangle tool from shapes group.
3. If you wish to draw a colored rectangle, then choose the color from colors group.
4. Move the mouse pointerto the drawing area. Click the left mouse button from where you want to start making a rectangle.
5. Drag the mouse to another side.
6. Release the left mouse button on drawing the required size.
 
ELLIPSE TOOL
 
-Ellipse tool is use to draw ovals or circles. To draw an oval
1. Click Home tab.
2. Click the Ellipsetool from shapes group.
3. Select the color of oval from the colors group.
4. In the drawing area, click from where you want to start drawing an oval.
5. Drag the mouse to another side.
6. Release the left mouse button when you get the required size.
• Press the shift key while dragging, to draw a perfect circle.
 
FILL WITH COLOR TOOL
 
Fill with color tool is used to fill the color in your drawing. To color a closed shape, follow the given steps.
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Draw a rectangle by selecting Rectangle.
3. Click fill with color from tools group.
4. Now select the color from colors group.
5. Move the mouse pointer to drawing area.
6. Click in the closed shape (rectangle) to fill with color.
 
PENCIL TOOL
 
Pencil tool is used for making free hand drawing. To use the pencil tool, follow the given steps.
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Click Pencil from tools group.
3. You can also choose a Color from Colors group.
4. Move the mouse pointer to drawing area.
5. Click and drag the mouse to make freehand drawing.
6. Release the mouse button after you have drawn.
 
ERASER TOOL
 
Eraser tool is used to erase any part of your drawing. To use the eraser tool,
1. Click the Home tab.
2. Click the Eraser tool from tools group.

4. Click the drag the mouse over the part that you want to erase.
