The other came down outside a rishi’s ashram. The baby birds became big birds after some time. One day a king came there for hunting. He lost his way. He tried a lot to find the way to came out of the forest. He was very tired. So he decided to take some rest. He saw a tree near the cave. He went there. As soon as he sat under the tree, he heard a voice cry out, “Quick! Hurry up! There is someone under the tree. Come and take his jewels and his horse. Hurry or else he’ll slip away.” The king was amazed. He saw a big brown bird on the tree. He also heard some dim noises coming from the cave. He quickly got on his horse and rode away as fast as he could. Then he reached near the rishi’s ashram. He tied his horse with a tree and sat down under its shade. Suddenly, he heard a gentle voice announce, “Sir, please go inside and rest. The rishi will be back soon. There is some cold water in the pot. Please make yourself comfortable.” The king saw a big brown bird on the tree. He was amazed because this bird looked just like the other bird he saw outside the cave. The bird told the king, “He is my brother. He made friends with the robbers and talked like them. He doesn’t talk to me any more.” Soon, the rishi came there. He told the king, “One is known by the company one keeps. That bird has always heard the talk of robbers. He imitates them and talk about robbing people. This one has repeated what he has always heard. He always welcomes people in the ashram.” Then the rishi invited the king to the ashram.
