7 Comment on the following statements:

[a] Evaporation causes cooling

[b] Rate o evaporation of an aqueous solution decreases with increase in humidity.

OR

Name the process that can be used to obtain mustard oil from the above mixture. Draw a well labelled diagram of the above process

8 Write the functions of ER? 

9 Draw a neat labeled diagram of a neuron. 

10 An ant travels a distance of 3 cm from A to B and then moves a distance of 4 cm at a right angle to AB. Find the resultant displacement and the total distance covered by it.

11 Arjun and Manish were travelling on a highway by their car. While Manish was driving the car, Arjun observed that the bus ahead of them was breaking to a stop. He asked Manish to slow down immediately. manish did the same and by the time the bus stopped, they had reached very close to it. However a possible accident was averted.

[a] What characteristics of Arjun must be appreciated for saving a possible accident?

[b] Why did the car not stop immediately on applying brakes?

[c] Give one more example of such situation in which the same property applies.

12 Answer the following:

[a] What do you understand by free fall?

[b] Give 2 differences between mass and weight.

13 Describe the desirable traits of poultry birds for which new varieties are developed. 

14 What are the main elements of animal husbandry?

OR

How many nutrients are essential for plants? What are macronutrients and micronutrients? List the nutrients supplied by air, water and soil.

15 Discuss the management practices that are common in dairy and poultry farming? 

16 Give reasons:

[a] Meristematic cells have a prominent nucleus and dense cytoplasm but they lack vacuole.

[b] Intercellular spaces are absent in sclerenchymatous tissues.

[c] We get a crunchy and granular feeling when we chew pear fruit.
