Question.
English-In this line the great poet Kalidasa wants to convey that Dilipa was an ideal king. He used to collect very small amount from his subject as the tax and he used to spend that money for the welfare of his subjects and not for his personal reason.

Question.
English-The poet wants to tell here that king Dilipa had studied many shastras. So he used to begin his works according to knowledge of the shastras and as the works were begun properly he used to achieve good results also. So he usd to perform all his works in the proper manner as prescribed in the shastras.

Question.
English-King Dilipa used to take proper care of the education, protection, nourishment etc. of his subjects. This is the responsibility of the father. So he was the real father of his subjects and their own fathers were the cause of giving birth to them only.

Question.
English-King Dilipa alone ruled over the whole earth as a small city and he did not face any difficulty even in ruling the whole earth. So, he was such an experienced and efficient ruler that he easily and efficiently ruled over the whole earth without facing any difficulty—this is the idea of this line.
