GENERAL COMMON ERRORS COMMITTED BY THE STUDENTS

1. After solving the numerical problems, not writing the SI-Units of the Physical Quantities.

2. Before attempting the Numerical, not converting all the given Physical Quantities into SI-Units.

3. Not writing the answers to the point.

4. Not showing ray direction in ray-diagrams & current direction in circuit diagrams.

5. Clearly not showing the Polarized & un-polarized Light.

6. Not aware of drawing a resistance, inductor & capacitor in circuit diagrams.

7. Not writing the name of Physical Quantities used in the formula.

TYPES OF THE QUESTIONS UNATTEMPTED BY THE STUDENTS IN PHYSICS

HINT: The students do not attempt the questions in the areas mentioned below due to following observed reasons:

1. Not reading the complete question paper properly in the given 15 minutes before commencement of the examination.

2. Not properly planning the answers and time in the given 15 minutes reading time.

3. Not attempting all the parts of the given questions, if it contains more than two parts.

4. Not properly reading and understanding the question before attempting it.

5. Trying to answer the difficult question in the beginning and spending unnecessary time on it to arrive at the answer.

1. Question on a parallel plate capacitor: Variation of charge, potential, energy and electric field when it is connected or disconnected to a battery.

2. Graphical relation between electric field and distance r from the centre of spherically symmetric charge distribution.

CURRENT ELECTRICITY

1. Problems on metre bridge and Potentiometer.

2. Problems based on the different combination of cells.

3. Problems on Current density, mobility.

MAGNETIC EFFECTS OF CURRENT AND MAGNETISM

1. Nature and properties of the material in terms of Hysteresis in making the soft iron and electromagnet.

2. Interpretation of Hysteresis curve for various applications.

3. Qualitative treatment in explaining the trajectory of the charged particle in uniform magnetic field.

4. Limitations of Cyclotron.

ELCTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION AND A.C. CIRCUITS

1. Questions on direction of Induced current

2. When and how to use Fleming’s Left Hand Rule and Fleming’s Right Hand Rule.

3. Problems on Motional emf

4. Problems on long distance power transmission.
