Q.13 A rope 45 m 60 cm long has been cut into 20 pieces. Find the length of each piece.

Ans Length of the rope = 45m 60cm = 45.60 m

Length of each rope after cutting into 20 pieces = 45.60 20 = 2.28 m or 228 cm

Q.14 What is the smallest 4 digit number, which is divisible by 24, 36, 54.

Ans. LCM of 24, 36 and 54 = 216

Multiples of 216 = 216, 432, 648, 864, 1080

Hence the smallest 4 digit no. divisible by 24, 36 and 54 is 1080.

Q.15 Grover Mithaiwala orders 19 litres of milk every day. Tomorrow he will be making small kheer cups for customers who will keep Shiv-Ratri fast. For 1 cup, 172 ml of milk will be used,if he wishes to make 156 cups how much extra milk will he order? Find out how much milk should he purchase tomorrow?

Ans. Milk required for 156 cups = 172 ml × 156 = 26832 ml =26.832 l

Extra milk to be ordered = 26.832 – 19 = 7.832 l
