1. A nation is a community that believes itself to be based on several shared characteristics such as a common language, geographical location, religion, race, ethnicity, political aspirations etc.

2. Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai are the cities developed by the British. The primary commodities could be easily exported and manufactured goods could be cheaply imported.

3. Colonialism simply means establishment of rule by one country over another. Eg: India being ruled by British.

5. Hence the development of heavy and machine making, industries expansion of public sector development of cooperate sector was considered important. A modern and prosperous India was thus planned and the government after independence stated manufacturing giant steel plants, gigantic dams, power stations and declared the country as a missed economy where both public and private sector worked hand in hand as partners of progress focusing their attention in the industrial and agricultural sector, human resource, finance, transport and communication, social services, education and upliftment of women for all ground growth of the economy.
