کیفی اعظمی (1917 - 2002)
کیفی اعظمی کا پورا نام سید اطہر حسین رضوی تھا۔ وہ اعظم گڑھ کے ایک گاؤں مجواں میں پیدا ہوئے۔ ابتدائی تعلیم گھر پر ہوئی اس کے بعد لکھنؤ کے مشہور ادارے سلطان المدارس میں داخل ہوئے۔ کیفی اعظمی کو شاعری کا شوق بچپن سے تھا۔ طالب علمی کے زمانے سے ترقی پسند تحریک سے وابستہ ہو گئے۔
1943 میں ممبئی آگئے اور یہاں ایک رسالے 'قومی جنگ' کی مجلسِ ادارت میں شامل ہو گئے۔ اس کے ساتھ ہی فلمی دنیا سے بھی ان کی وابستگی رہی اور کئی فلموں میں نغمے اور مکالمے لکھے۔
کیفی اعظمی کا شمار ممتاز ترقی پسند شاعروں میں ہوتا ہے۔ ان کی شاعری میں سماجی مسائل کی ترجمانی ملتی ہے۔ ان کے شعری مجموعوں میں 'جھنکار' (1945)، 'آخرِ شب' (1947)، 'آوارہ سجدے' (1973)، 'ابلیس کی مجلسِ شوریٰ' (دوسرا اجلاس) (1977) اور 'سرمایہ' شامل ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ ان کے فلمی نغموں کا مجموعہ 'میری آواز سنو' (1974) میں منظرِ عام پر آیا۔ ان کے شعری مجموعے 'آوارہ سجدے' کے لیے انھیں ساہتیہ اکادمی ایوارڈ سے نوازا گیا۔

الف) کیفی اعظمی کا اصل نام سید اطہر حسین رضوی تھا؛ وہ ترقی پسند تحریک کے شاعر تھے۔
ب) ساہتیہ اکادمی ایوارڈ انھیں 'آوارہ سجدے' پر ملا؛ 'میری آواز سنو' ان کے فلمی نغموں کا مجموعہ ہے۔
ج) مجموعوں کے سنہ ترتیب سے یاد کیجیے: جھنکار (1945)، آخرِ شب (1947)، آوارہ سجدے (1973)۔

جس میں جلتا ہوں اسی آگ میں جلنا ہے تجھے

استاد کا نوٹ
الف) 'اٹھ مری جان! مرے ساتھ ہی چلنا ہے تجھے' بند کے شروع اور آخر میں دہرایا گیا ہے؛ ایسے دہرائے جانے والے مصرعے کو ٹیپ کا مصرع کہتے ہیں۔
ب) 'زیست' کا مطلب ہے زندگی اور 'آبگینہ' یعنی شیشہ۔
ج) بیچ کے چار مصرعے 'آج' پر ختم ہوتے ہیں اور ان کے قافیے جنگ، رنگ، سنگ اور آہنگ ہیں۔
