एकादशः पाठः - वर्णोच्चारण-शिक्षा २
पूर्वस्यां कक्षायां 'मनुष्येषु वाग्-उत्पत्ति-प्रक्रिया' कथं भवतीति वयं सामान्यतः दृष्टवन्तः। तत्रैव 'आस्यस्य अभ्यन्तरे वर्णानाम् उत्पत्त्यर्थं त्रीणि तत्त्वानि आवश्यकानि भवन्ति -
(क) स्थानम्, (ख) करणम्, (ग) आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्नः' च इत्यपि वयम् अवलोकितवन्तः। तत्र (क) षट् स्थानानि; (ख) षट् करणानि इति उभयोः विषये वयं पूर्वस्यां कक्षायाम् एव विस्तरेण ज्ञातवन्तः, यथा -

अस्मिन् पाठे - (ग) आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्नः - इत्यस्य विषये विस्तरेण अवगच्छामः -
शिक्षक की टिप्पणी
a) वर्ण बनने के तीन तत्त्व क्रम से याद रखिए: स्थान, करण और आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्न; पहले दो पिछली कक्षा में पढ़े जा चुके हैं।
b) स्थान वह जगह है जिसे छुआ जाता है (जैसे मूर्धा), और करण वह अंग है जो छूता है (जैसे जिह्वा-उपाग्र)।
c) आरेख में देखिए: छह स्थान भी हैं और छह करण भी।
(ग) आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्नः
आस्यस्य अभ्यन्तरे करणं येन प्रयत्नेन स्थानं स्पृशति, स्थानस्य समीपं वा याति, सः प्रयत्नः - 'आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्नः' इति उच्यते। आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्नः पञ्चविधः भवति -
(१) स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नः
करणं यदा स्थानं 'स्पृष्ट-रूपेण स्पृशति', तदा करणस्य 'स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नः' भवति। करणस्य स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नेन → स्थाने स्पर्श-व्यञ्जनानि उत्पद्यन्ते।
उदाहरणार्थम् अत्र मूर्धन्य-वर्णान् पश्यामः -

(२) ईषत्-स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नः
करणं यदा स्थानं 'स्वल्पम् एव स्पृशति', तदा करणस्य 'ईषत्-स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नः' भवति। करणस्य ईषत्-स्पृष्ट-प्रयत्नेन → स्थाने अन्तःस्थ-व्यञ्जनानि जायन्ते।

शिक्षक की टिप्पणी
a) आभ्यन्तर-प्रयत्न पाँच प्रकार का है; यहाँ पहले दो दिए हैं: स्पृष्ट और ईषत्-स्पृष्ट।
b) अन्तर याद रखने का तरीका: पूरा स्पर्श हो तो स्पर्श-व्यञ्जन, थोड़ा (ईषत्) स्पर्श हो तो अन्तःस्थ-व्यञ्जन।
c) दोनों चित्रों में स्थान एक ही (मूर्धा) है; केवल जिह्वा के छूने का ढंग बदला है।
