1.  Which  one is  a chemical  change - fermentation  of fruit  juice or diluting fruit  juice ?

(i)  What type of chemical  reaction  takes place in each of the two given  steps.

(ii)  Name the metals initially taken in the powder form, write balanced chemical equation  for both reactions.

6.  A knife,  which  is  used to cut a fruit,  was immediately  dipped into water containing drops of blue  litmus solution.  If the colour  of the solution  is  changed to red, what inference  can be drawn about the nature of the fruit  and why ?

7. While constructing a house, a builder selects marble flooring and marble table tops for the kitchen  where vinegar  and juices of lemon,  tamarind etc. are more often used for cooking. Will you agree to this selection and why ?

8.   Identify the substance that is used to prepare false ceilings and also used for plastering to set right broken bones. How this substance is prepared ? Write the balanced chemical equation  for the reaction.

9.    Differentiate  between renewable  and non-renewable  sources of energy with  one example for each.

10.   What are the end products formed during fermentation in yeast. Under what condition a similar process takes place in our body that leads to muscle cramps ?

11.   In an electric  circuit  with  a resistance  wire and a cell,  the current flowing  is  I.  What would  happen to this  current if the wire is  replaced by another thicker  wire of same material and same length.  Give  reason.
