1 “BE A JUNK TECHY"
Observe the waste dumped in the trash bins at your home for a few days. RECOVER things like used glasses, plastic bottles, shoe boxes, cardboard cartons, old clothes RECREATE utility items like luminaries, vase, doll house, bags etc from
them to REUSE it in your daily routine. Bring this piece of your imagination to school to be showcased to your friends in the class.
2 YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Imagine a world where everyone helped each other, how nice would that be? You can get it started by doing one good deed a DAY! Whether it's doing something for your parents, grandparents or neighbours or friends. There are lots of ways to good deeds. You can simply help your mom with chores, clean your cupboard and pass on toys to others to play with, offer someone a glass of water in this scorching heat ….actually the list is endless. You can make someone's day by doing it. 1. Write down your act that brought a smile on someone's face on a daily basis on strips of paper. Fold each paper in half and place it in a jar/box. 2. Don't forget to bring this jar/box to school after vacation to share your good deed adventures with your friends.
3 NOW AND THEN Talk to your parents, aunts, uncles and all the other grownups who knew you when you were 4 years old. Find out about yourself at that time. There are so many things you did then and now you cannot do them. Think of 10 things you can do now but you could not do them when you were 4 years old. To make your composition interesting you may draw pictures too. To make it more attractive.
4 Prepare a list of questions you could ask your grandparents to know them better. Interview them and write their answers.
5 KAHANI MAIN TWIST Read panchatantra stories in English. Twist the story with your imagination and give it a different climax. Write the original and the new story………………..in separate self created story books. You can make pictures
too to make the story books attractive.
6 Learn to spell the names of 20 characters from the programmes you watch on television during the break.
MATHS HOLIDAYS HOMEWORK
Prepare an attractive and neatly labelled scrap book with the following activities in it:
1. Learn and write the tables from (2 to 12) in words.
like:- Two one's are two
Two two's are four
2. Search any 5 puzzles related to Maths and paste them.
3. Make a robot using different geometrical shapes.
4. Name 5 objects which are circular in shape and draw them and colour nicely.
5. Cut down one number daily from the newspaper and paste that number with date in the scrap book. After pasting write down the number name of that number

6. Save some money from your pocket money in a Piggy bank. At the end of the month count the money you have like this:

Holiday Assignment
General Instructions:
Do your work neatly in good writing.
Do the assignment on A-4 sized loose ruled sheets and staple them in a handmade folder. Mention your name, class and roll No on it.
Life skill question : Science
Bottle Planters ;
Requirement: Two old plastic bottles, strong string or thread , needle , old compass and scissor
Procedure: 1 )Cut two conical tops and one base along with the cap of the bottle .
2) Make holes in the lids to drain excess water.
3) Join the cut bottles with each other with strong strings. Then place soil and grow plants and hang the planter from a window. Do not forget to water it regularly. Bring the bottle planter onn 24.6.13.with you Write the procedure and draw its diagram on an A-4 sized coloured sheet.
Creative work question :
Collect all the pencil shavings you produce in the vacation and utilize them to make a greeting card or a photoframe .
Research work :
1. Help Your Mother in Household Activities
2. Explore your kitchen at home in the presence of your mother. Request her to show you three herbs used for cooking. Now look up these herbs on the internet to see how they look as plants. Find out why do we use these herbs in food and name the dishes where they are used.
3. Learn to make five different shakes or juices with the help of your mother and find out and record the nutritive value of each from the internet .
Holiday Homework: Socisl Science
Do the following on loose sheets:
1. Prepare your food timetable for a week. You can also mention the junk food items of our choice that you eat on Sundays and a special dish prepared by your mother during the vacations.
2. Collect and paste pictures of the traditional dresses of different states of India. Also collect the wedding photos of your family members. Make a collage and label the unique costumes worn by different people in those photos.
3. Your parents work hard for you. You must also help them. Decide and write five ways by which you can help your parents. This will make them very happy. Also write what is it that you love the most about the following members of your family?
