कवि ने अपने आने को उल्लास इसलिए कहता है क्योंकि किसी भी नए स्थान पर वह बड़े उत्साह के साथ जाता है। वहाँ जाकर उसे प्रस्सनता होती है पर जब वह उस स्थान को छोड़ कर आगे जाता है तब उसे दुःख होता है। विदाई के क्षणों उसकी आखों से आंसू बह निकलते हैं।

यहाँ भिखमंगों की दुनिया से कवि का आशय है कि यह दुनिया केवल लेना जानती है देना नहीं। कवि ने भी इस दुनिया को प्यार दिया पर इसके बदले में उसे वह प्यार नहीं मिला जिसकी वह आशा करता है। कवि के लिए यह उसकी असफलता है। इसलिए वह अपने हृदय पर असफलता का एक निशान भार की तरह लेकर जा रहा है। अत: कवि निराश है, वह समझता है कि प्यार और खुशियाँ लोगों के जीवन में भरने में असफल रहा।
