(i) धूूल, धूूरि, धूरी, धूूरी आदि की व्यंजनाएँ अलग-अलग हैं। धूूल जीवन का यथार्थवादी गद्य, धूूरि उसकी कविता है। धूूूल छायावादी दर्शन है, जिसकी वास्तविकता संदिग्ध है और धूूरि लोक-संस्कृति का नवीन जागरण है। इन सबका रंग एक ही है, रूप में भिन्नता जो भी हो। मिट्टी काली, पीली, लाल तरह-तरह की होती है, लेकिन धूूल कहते ही शरद के उजले-उजले बादलों का स्मरण हो जाता है। धूूल के लिए श्वेत नाम का विशेषण अनावश्यक है, वह उसका सहज रंग है।
