(क) आंध्र के घने जंगलों में रहने वाले आदिवासियों के बीच अपना हक जमाने के लिए अंग्रेज़ों ने क्या किया?

आंध्र के घने जंगलों में रहने वाले आदिवासियों पर अंग्रेज़ों ने हुक्म जमाने के लिए उनके राशन-पानी ले जाने वाले रास्ते की नाकेबंदी कर दी जिससे भूखे मरने की नौबत आ गयी। इस कारण कोया आदिवासियों को अंग्रेज़ों के सामने झुकना पड़ा।

श्रीराम राजू हाई स्कूल पास कर 18 वर्ष की उम्र में साधू बन गए थे। उन्होंने कोया आदिवासियों को अत्याचार की खिलाफ आवाज़ उठाने की प्रेरणा दी जिस कारण वे लोग उन्हें अपना नेता मानने लगे थे।
जब अंग्रेज़ों ने कोया आदिवासियों का राशन रोक दिया तो उनपर कहर टूट पड़ा, श्रीराम राजू ने अपने लोगों की तकलीफों का अंत करने के लिए आत्मसमर्पण किया।
उत्तर
अंग्रेज़ों से लड़ने के लिए कोया आदिवासी संकरी पगडंडियों के आसपास जंगलों में छिपे रहते थे। उन पगडंडियों से जब अंग्रेज़ी सेना गुजरती थी, तो वह उनमें से भारतीयों सेना के लोगों को जाने देते थे और जैसे ही अंग्रेज़ी सारजेन्ट या कैप्टन आ रहा होता था, तो उसे मार देते थे। पुलिस चौकियों या सेना पर हमला कर देते थे और अस्त्र-शस्त्र लूट कर भाग जाते थे।
(घ) कोया आदिवासियों के विद्रोह को स्वतंत्रता संग्राम क्यों कहना चाहिए?
पराधीनता के विरुद्ध जब लड़ाई होती है तो उसे स्वाधीनता संग्राम कहा जाता है। यहाँ भी अंग्रेज़ों ने आदिवासियों को जबरदस्ती बिना मजदूरी के सड़क बनाने को कहा, यह अत्याचार था इसलिए इसे स्वतंत्रता संग्राम भी कह सकते हैं।
4. क्या ठीक होगा?
(i)"दो दिन में जंगल में सड़क बनाने का काम शुरू होगा। तुम सब लोगों को इस काम पर पहुँचना है। अगर नहीं पहुँचे तो ठीक नहीं होगा।"
(क) नहीं, मेरे विचार से बेस्टियन का कथन अनुचित था। यह एक प्रकार से लोगों पर अत्याचार था।
- उसका मन संसार में फैले भ्रष्टाचार से दुखी हो गया होगा इसलिए वह साधू बन गया होगा। वह समाज से दूर हो गया होगा। साथ ही अंग्रेज़ों के प्रति उसके मन में विद्रोह था। वह जंगल में आ गया।
- राजू के शहीद होने पर आदिवासियों का आन्दोलन टूट गया। वे हिम्मत हार कर अंग्रेज़ों की गुलामी करने लगे।
