इन पंक्तियों में कवि ने तोप की वर्तमान स्थिति को बताया है। 1857 की क्रांति में जिस तोप ने आतंक मचा रखा था वो आज बेबस थी। छोटे-छोटे बच्चे इसकी नाल पर बैठकर घुड़सवारी करते हैं। चिड़ियाँ भी इसपर बैठकर आपस में बातचीत करती हैं।
