Let us discuss the format of NSO Class 3 which is most important for the students to understand before they attempt the Olympiad. The National Science Olympiad Class 3 is objective in nature and consists of 35 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) to be completed in a duration of 60 minutes. The Olympiad exam paper of 35 questions is divided into 3 sections wherein, the section 1 & 3 contains 5 questions each and the section 2 contains the remaining 25 questions.

The details of the 3 Sections of NSO Class 3 Examination is as follows: -  

1. Section 1: Logical Reasoning
2. Section 2: Science
3. Section 3: Achievers Section

The NSO Class 3 Examination is conducted in 2 levels, wherein the level 1 of Olympiad is 60% from the current class syllabus and 40% from the previous class. However, the questions of Achievers section as well as all the questions from level 2 come from the current class syllabus only.

The Syllabus of NSO Class 3 is in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by CBSE, ICSE/ISC and other state boards. Let us go through the section-wise outline of the same: -

1. Section 1: Patterns, Analogy and Classification, Coding- Decoding, Mirror Images, Embedded Figures, Ranking Test, Alphabet Test, Grouping of Figures, Figure Matrix, Geometrical Shapes, Days and Dates & Possible Combinations
2. Section 2: Plants and Animals, Birds, Food, Housing Clothing and Occupation, Transport, Communication and Safety Rules, Human Body, Earth and Universe, Matter and Materials, Light, Sound and Force, Our Environment.
3. Section 3: Higher Order Thinking Questions based on the Syllabus as per Section 2.

The NSO Class 3 Result is declared in both offline and online modes. The result of the Science Olympiad is send to the registered schools and the students can also check their results on the official website of the foundation. SPR, the Student Performance Report is issued to the participating students with a detailed analysis of the student’s performance in the Olympiad.

The tentative important dates with respect to NSO Class 3 are as follows: -

NSO Class 3 Examination: November – December

NSO Class 3 Result: December – January
