PROJECT REPORT:

Question 1. Prepare a report on ill effects of cigarette smoke to a human being with detailed pictures for primary and secondary smoker.
Answer:
1. Introduction:
Cigarette smoke is a toxic aerosol containing over 7,000 chemicals, including at least 70 known carcinogens (cancer-causing agents), carbon monoxide, formaldehyde, ammonia, and hydrogen cyanide. When inhaled, these substances damage almost every organ system in the human body.

2. Primary Smoker (Active Smoking):
A primary smoker is a person who directly inhales smoke from a lit cigarette.
- Respiratory System: Destroys the cilia in the airways, leading to chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It significantly increases the risk of lung cancer.
- Cardiovascular System: Increases heart rate and blood pressure, narrows arteries, reduces blood flow to limbs, and greatly elevates the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
- Other Effects: Weakens the immune system, causes premature skin wrinkling, stains teeth, and reduces overall physical stamina.

3. Secondary Smoker (Passive / Secondhand Smoking):
A secondary smoker is a non-smoker who inhales secondhand smoke, which is a mixture of smoke exhaled by the smoker and smoke from the burning tip of the cigarette.
- Impact on Adults: Develops the same health risks as active smokers, including heart disease, lung cancer, and respiratory irritation.
- Impact on Children: Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at a much higher risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), frequent and severe asthma attacks, respiratory infections (bronchitis and pneumonia), and middle ear infections.

4. Conclusion:
Tobacco consumption and exposure to its smoke are entirely preventable causes of disease and premature death. Avoiding both primary and secondary exposure is vital for maintaining a healthy respiratory and circulatory system.
In simple words: Cigarette smoke contains dangerous poisons that harm not only the person smoking (primary smoker) but also anyone nearby breathing the same air (secondary smoker), leading to serious lung and heart diseases.

Exam Tip: Clearly differentiate between primary smokers (direct inhalation) and secondary smokers (inhalation of secondhand smoke) and list at least two major health impacts on the respiratory and circulatory systems for full marks.
