Moving forward in the article, let us focus on the most important aspect, the format of IMO Class 3. To crack a competitive examination, it is most important for the students to understand the exam pattern before going for the final attempt.
The International Mathematics Olympiad Class 3 question paper is objective in nature and consists of 35 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) to be completed in a duration of 60 minutes. The Olympiad exam paper of 35 questions is divided into 4 sections wherein, the first 30 questions are present in section 1, 2, 3 and the section 4 contains the remaining 5 questions.
The IMO Class 3 Examination is conducted in 2 levels, wherein the level 1 of Olympiad is 60% from the current class syllabus and 40% from the previous class. However, the questions of Achievers section as well as all the questions from level 2 are based on the current class syllabus only.
The Syllabus of IMO Class 3 is in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by CBSE, ICSE/ISC and other state boards. The questions asked in the Olympiad are based on a different level of conceptual and analytical knowledge.

This Section consists of: Patterns, Analogy and Classification, Coding Decoding, Ranking Test, Alphabet Test, Grouping of Figures and Figure Matrix, Mirror Images, Geometrical Shapes, Embedded Figures, Days and Dates & Possible Combinations.
Section 2: Mathematical Reasoning
This Section consists of: Numerals, Number Names, Number Sense (4 digit numbers), Computation Operations, Fractions, Length, Weight, Capacity, Temperature, Time, Money, Geometry, Data Handling.
Section 3: Everyday Mathematics
This Section contains Syllabus based on Mathematical Reasoning.
Section 4: Achievers Section
This Section contains “Higher Order Thinking Questions” based on Section 2.

The IMO Class 3 Result is declared in both offline and online modes. The Olympiad result is send to the registered schools and the students can also check their results on the official website of the foundation. The participating students in IMO Class 3 are issued SPR, that is, the Student Performance Report which gives a detailed analysis of the student’s performance in the Olympiad.
The tentative important dates for IMO Class 3 examination are as follows: -

IMO Class 3 Level 1 Result: December – January
IMO Class 3 Level 2 Examination: January – February
