उत्तर
लेखक को बेर की झाड़ी पर ओस की बूँद मिली। जब लेखक झाड़ी के नीचे से गुजर रहा था तो ओस की बूँद उसके कलाई पर गिरी और सरककर हथेली पर आ गई।
Question 2. ओस की बूँद क्रोध और घृणा से क्यों काँप उठी?
उत्तर
पेड़ों द्वारा जल की बूँदों को बलपूर्वक धरती के भूगर्भ से खींच लाना व उनको खा जाना, अर्थात् पौधें ज़मीन से जल प्राप्त कर स्वंय के लिए पानी का प्रबंध करते हैं व कुछ को पृथ्वी के भूगर्भ से बाहर निकाल कर पृथ्वी पर ओस के रूप में ले आते हैं। जिसे याद करते ही बूँद क्रोध व घृणा से काँपने उठी।
Question 3. हाईड्रोजन और ऑक्सीजन को पानी ने अपना पूर्वज/पुरखा क्यों कहा?

जब ब्रह्मांड में पृथ्वी व उसके साथी ग्रहों का उद्भव भी नहीं हुआ था तब ब्रह्मांड में हाईड्रोजन व ऑक्सीजन दो गैसें सूर्यमंडल में लपटों के रूप में विद्यमान थीं। किसी उल्कापिंड के सूर्य से टकराने से सूर्य के टूकड़े हो गए उन्हीं टूकड़ों में से एक टुकड़ा पृथ्वी रूप में उत्पन्न हुआ और इसी ग्रह में ऑक्सीजन व हाइड्रोजन के बीच रासायनिक क्रिया हुई। इन्होंने आपस में मिलकर अपना प्रत्यक्ष अस्तित्व गँवा कर पानी को जन्म दिया। इसिलए बूँद ने इन दोनों को अपना पूर्वज कहा है।

उत्तर
पानी का जन्म हाइड्रोजन व ऑक्सीजन के बीच रासायनिक प्रक्रिया द्वारा होता है। ये दोनों आपस में मिलकर अपना आस्तित्व समाप्त कर जल के रूप में विद्यमान हो जाते हैं। सर्वप्रथम बूंद भाप के रूप में पृथ्वी के वातावरण में ईद-गिर्द घूमती रहती है, तद् पश्चात् ठोस बर्फ के रूप में विद्यमान हो जाती है। समुद्र से होती हुई वह गर्म-धारा से मिलकर ठोस रूप को त्यागकर जल का रूप धारण कर लेती है।
