संगतकार के माध्यम से कवि किसी भी कार्य अथवा कला में लगे सहायक कर्मचारियों और कलाकारों की ओर संकेत करना चाह रहा है। सहायक कलाकार अपनी प्रसिद्धि की परवाह किए बिना मुख्य कलाकार के महत्व को बढ़ाने का कार्य करते हैं|

संगतकार निम्नलिखित रूपों में संगतकार की मदद करते हैं -
• वे अपनी आवाज़ और गूँज को मुख्य गायक की आवाज़ में मिलाकर उनकी आवाज़ का बल बढ़ाने का काम करते हैं|
• जब मुख्य गायक गायन की गहराई में चले जाते हैं तब वे स्थायी पंक्ति को पकड़कर मुख्य गायक को वापस मूल स्वर में लाते हैं|
• वे मुख्य गायक की थकी, टूटती-बिखरती आवाज़ को बल देकर उसे अकेला होने या बिखरने से बचाते हैं|

संगतकार जब गाता है तब उसके आवाज़ एक स्पष्ट रूप से एक घबराहट सुनाई देता है| वो होता है अपनी आवाज़ को मुख्य गायक की आवाज़ से कभी ऊँचा नहीं उठने देने का| कवि के अनुसार इसे संगतकार की असफलता नहीं माननी चाहिए चूँकि संगतकार अगर चाहे तो ऐसा कर सकता है परन्तु मुख्य गायक की आवाज़ का महत्व बरकरार रखने के लिए वो ऐसा करता है| यह संगतकार की महानता का परिचय है|
6. कभी-कभी तारसप्तक की ऊँचाई पर पहुँचकर मुख्य गायक का स्वर बिखरता नज़र आता है उस समय संगतकार उसे बिखरने से बचा लेता है। इस कथन के आलोक में संगतकार की विशेष भूमिका को स्पष्ट कीजिए।

जब मुख्य गायक का गायन तारसप्तक की ऊँचाई पर पहुँचता है तब उसके स्वर बिखरने लगते हैं, शक्ति समाप्त होने लगती है| ऐसे समय में संगतकार उसके पीछे मुख्य धुन को दोहरा कर इस बिखराव को संभालता है और उसकी शक्ति और उत्साह को वापस लाने में योगदान देता है|
