اک دن لالو روتے آئے آنسوؤں سے منھ دھوتے آئے
ابّا نے آکر پکارا کیوں روتے ہو کس نے مارا
بھائی جان نے پوچھا آکر “آئے مار کہاں سے کھاکر”
دادی گرتی پڑتی آںئ لٹھیا کھٹ کھٹ کرتی آئیں
لالو کو جو روتے دیکھا پوچھا “بیٹا کس نے مارا
آجا میری गोद میں آجا میرا بیٹا، میرا راجا”
امّاں آئیں، آپا آئیں روٹی اور مٹھائی لائیں
لالو کو گودی میں اٹھایا پیار کیا، چھاتی سے لگایا
آپا بولیں “پُچ ہوجاؤ روٹی اور مٹھائی کھاؤ”
پھر بھائیب نے اُن کو بلایا گیت سناکر دل بہلایا
نہلاکر کپڑے پہنائے اچھے اچھے کھانے کھلائے
لالو ہیں اِن سب کے پیارے
ہیں وہ سب کی آنکھ کے تارے
