As per the latest updates, the Central Board of Secondary Education is thinking to make changes in the regular pattern of practical examinations being conducted for students in the CBSE affiliated schools. The Board has decided to conduct the practical examinations at external examination centres.
According to the information released by the board, the board is expected to conduct the practical exams externally as like theory-based exams and the centres would be the same for both the theory and practical.

Expectedly, the new proposal would be implemented from the upcoming 2020 session. Till now, students need to appear in the school centre for their practical exams in their school and visit the external centres for theoretical exams. Apparently, in order to deal with the unavailability of desired equipment in some schools for conducting the practical examinations, all the above changes are planned.
Besides, there were some schools, who did not have even laboratories to conduct the examinations. Students of such schools would be sent to other schools for their practical examination. Apart from this, it has happened that the board will also bring a new marking plan for practical examinations from the next academic session, if they are conducted externally.
Moreover, students who appear in the examination will also be given a separate admission letter to enter the centre of their practical examinations. As per the CBSE officials, CBSE also directed the conduct of practical examination for the humanities. The purpose of this initiative is to make board exams more relevant and practical.
- Similar to theory-based examinations, the Board has the potential to conduct practical exams externally and will be similar to both the centres for theory and practical.
- Probably, this proposal will be implemented from the academic session of 2020.
