CCE system may be removed

As per the latest news the continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) scheme of the CBSE may be discontinued and the old system of conducting examinations in class 10 may be reintroduced. The traditional annual examination system and detention/ failure system may be introduced again. There is a common feeling amongst various leading educational institutions that the CCE system and no detention policy has led to a decline in the learning outcome at the elementary school level.

The teachers have also provided feedback that due to the CCE system and no detention policy the seriousness amongst the students towards studies have also reduced.

The earlier system on CCE was implemented to reduce the undue pressure on students due to the traditional education system of yearly examinations and student detention system which was demotivating for students and caused undue pressure.

Final decision is pending on the removal of CCE system yet.
