The next morning, Appa was ready with a list of places to visit to sell the sarees. Bala could not read the large instructions on the signboards, so he held his father's hand tightly.

After what felt like many hours, they finally reached a large house. The guard at the door let them inside. They sat in a big hall and took out the sarees from their bags. A young boy saw them and shouted, "Mom! There's a man here with two bundles to meet you."

The boy asked, "What is your name?" Bala replied, "I am Balakumaran from Periya Negamam." Then Bala asked, "What is your name?" The boy said, "Nithin." Nithin's room was filled with many toys. He let Bala play with all of them. Most of Nithin's toys worked with electricity. Since Bala's house did not have electricity, he did not know how to play with most of these toys.

In one part of the room, Bala saw a spinning wheel. He knew what this toy was! Nithin said, "Do you know how to use this? I don't." Bala replied, "This is called a Rattai. Do you have any cotton?" Nithin did not have any cotton. So, Bala searched in his Appa's bag to find some. Bala then took the soft cotton and put it on the spinning wheel. He skillfully moved his fingers and kept turning the wheel to make yarn.

Nithin shouted, "You can do magic! Can you teach me?" Bala said, "Not like that. Do it this way. Here, hold this. Spin it!" Bala smiled broadly. Nithin found it hard at first but quickly learned how to spin. Soon, they both went outside. Appa had sold many sarees to Nithin's mother. Nithin then told his mom, "Mom! Mom! He taught me magic!" His aunty laughed and replied, "Of course, his father is a magician too. A weaving magician!" Nithin then said, "Yes! I will tell all my friends at school that a magician from Periya Negamam taught me this magic."
