સ્વદેશપ્રીતિ કાવ્ય – પરિચય

પ્રસ્તુત કાવ્યમાં કવિ દલપતરામે સ્વદેશપ્રેમનો મહિમા સમજાવ્યો છે. જેને હૈયે દેશદાઝ નથી એવા શુષ્ક હૃદયના માનવીને સમજાવવાનો કોઈ મતલબ નથી. ધન, રૂપ કે સત્તા હોવા છતાં જેનું હૃદય માતૃભૂમિ માટે સંવેદનશીલ નથી, તેની વખાણ કોઈ કરતું નથી.

લોકકલ્યાણના કામ કરનારની હંમેશાં પૂજા થાય છે. પોતાની વિદ્વત્તા દેશ માટે ન વાપરનાર વ્યક્તિનું જીવન વ્યર્થ છે. વિદેશમાં વસનાર પોતાના વતન પાછા ફરે ત્યારે તેને જોઈને સ્વજનોની આંખમાં હર્ષાશ્રુ આવે છે. અંતે તો વતનની ધૂળ સાથે માનવીને સાચો સંબંધ છે. સાચે જ માતૃભૂમિ પ્યારી અને ન્યારી છે.

Poet Dalpatram has shown the importance of national pride in this poem. It serves no purpose to explain the value of patriotism to someone who has no affection for their country in their heart. No one praises an individual whose heart remains unmoved for their homeland, even if they possess riches, charm, or authority. An individual who strives for the well-being of others is always revered. The life of someone who does not apply their wisdom for their own country is meaningless. When a person living abroad comes back to their birthplace, tears of happiness often fall from the eyes of their family. A person's true connection is with the soil of their homeland. Truly, a motherland is both cherished and amazing.
