CBSE Class 8 Computer Science Painting Tools In Photoshop Notes

Painting Tools
Adobe Photoshop provides several tools for painting and editing image color. The Brush tool and the Pencil tool work like traditional drawing tools applying color with brush strokes. Tools like the Eraser tool, Blur tool, and Smudge tool modify the existing colors in the image. In the options bar for each of these painting tools, you can set how color is applied to an image and choose from preset brush tips.
You can save a set of brush options as a preset so you can quickly access brush characteristics you use frequently. Photoshop includes several sample brush presets. You can start with these presets and modify them to produce new effects. Many original brush presets are available for download on the web.
Healing Brush tool

1. Select the Healing Brush tool in the Tools panel (it’s a hidden tool of the Spot Healing Brush tool).
2. Find an area in the image that looks good and then Alt-click (Windows) or Option-click (Mac) to sample that area.
For example, if you want to eliminate wrinkles on a face, choose a wrinkle-free area of skin near the wrinkle. (Try to choose an area relatively close in skin tone.)
Position the mouse cursor over the area to be repaired and start painting.

The Healing Brush tool goes into action, blending and softening to create a realistic repair of the area.
3. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 as necessary to repair the blemish, wrinkles, or scratches.
Patch Tool

There are 2 methods to retouch using sampled pixels.
Method 1:

1. In the Toolbox, select the Patch Tool.
2. Drag in (select) a damaged area with the Patch Tool(exactly like with Lasso Tool)
3. On the Options bar, choose the Source mode.
4. Drag the selection (cursor inside the selection) onto a repair-source area (movie).
Method 2:
5. Drag in a repair-source area with the Patch Tool*.
6. On the Options bar, choose the Destination mode.
7. Drag the selection (cursor inside of selection) onto a damaged area (movie).
Red eye Removal tool

1. Open up a picture in Photoshop.
2. Click and hold the bandage icon on the left side of the screen. Select the option Red Eye Tool that slides out as an extra feature.
3. Select the area you want to correct with the Photoshop Red Eye Tool.
4. Release the area that you selected. The program will cover the pupil with a darker color.
5. Do the same for the other eye.
