Sir
Subject: Need for a people's movement for a clean Yamuna
Through the columns of your widely read newspaper I want to highlight the deteriorating condition of the river Yamuna.
Delhi gets contaminated water from the Yamuna, and the residents are to be blamed. They pollute the river with garbage, sewage and filth. The water is full of bacteria, plastic and chemicals and unfit for use. People have asked for a water treatment plant for a long time, but the authorities have not responded.
I request you to highlight the problem and arouse public interest. We should all get together to have the plant set up.
Yours truly
Radha G

Question: You are Sanjeet of 122, Arjun Nagar, New Delhi. Vehicles are parked haphazardly in your locality, causing traffic jams. Write to the Secretary of the Residents' Association.

Sir
Subject: Complaint about haphazard parking in the locality
I would like to draw your attention to the bad parking habits of residents in our locality, which cause chaos and leave no space for those who come back late.
In spite of marked parking areas, cars are parked between two spots and one vehicle takes the space of two or three. Two-wheelers are parked far from their zone. People spend a long time looking for parking, which causes frustration and worry about the safety of vehicles.
Notices and warnings have been given, but nothing has changed. I request you to take strict action, as it is leading to quarrels between residents.
Yours sincerely
Sanjeet

Article: Save Water - Are We Doing Enough?
By XYZ
Many people live with less water than they need, in the world's richest cities as well as in farming areas. Droughts are more frequent and severe, and about four billion people already live in regions with severe water stress for at least a month in the year. As populations rise, the stress will grow.
Water is the most precious gift on earth, and life exists because of it. We can save drinking water by harvesting rainwater, which is one of the most effective methods.
Afforestation also reduces surface run-off and recharges groundwater. If we follow such methods, we can ensure water for future generations. Remember: If you conserve water, you conserve life.
Story: The False Alarm
Bunya was a foolish boy and an attention seeker. He was a woodcutter who went deep into the jungle to cut trees. One day, for mischief, he shouted at the top of his voice, "There's a tiger, a tiger!" The villagers came running with their weapons, but they saw no tiger, only Bunya laughing. They were hurt and went away swearing. A week later, in the jungle, Bunya really heard a roar near his friend. He ran to the villagers for help, but nobody believed him. Only the tea vendor gave him the benefit of the doubt and went with him, but by then his friend was nowhere to be seen. Bunya realised that it was all his own fault. Moral: A liar is not believed even when he speaks the truth.

4. Q3. Write an article on the importance of a healthy body and a healthy mind (100-150 words).
Show answer
Answer: A Healthy Body and a Healthy Mind
By Rohit Mehra
We all know that health is wealth, but in our busy lives we seldom act on it. A healthy body gives us the energy to study, work and play, while a healthy mind helps us to think clearly and face stress. The two are linked, because a tired body cannot support a calm mind.
To keep fit, we should eat a balanced diet, avoid junk food, sleep for eight hours and exercise or play for at least an hour every day. Yoga and meditation keep the mind calm. We should also spend time with family and friends, and keep our screen time under control.
If we take care of both our body and mind, we will be happy and successful. As the saying goes, a sound mind lives in a sound body.

I took it to your service centre, but the fault was not fixed. As the heater is under warranty, I request you to refund the full price of Rs 2,500 or replace it with a new one, within a week. I am ready to return the heater with the bill.

I request the Municipal Corporation to repair the taps at once and to appoint staff to inspect them regularly. I also appeal to the public to close the taps after use and to report leaks. Water is precious, and we must save it.
