Registration of NEET 2020 starts

The NEET 2020 registration process would start on Monday, December 2nd, 2019. National Testing Agency, NTA would carry out the county’s undergraduate entrance exam for medical and dental admissions.  The examination is scheduled to take place in English, Hindi, and Urdu on May 3, 2020, apart from eight regional languages, across the country. This year, the National Medical Commission, NMC Act 2019 proposes different changes in medical education.

Candidates should please note at the start that there is no change in the NEET 2020 exam. The paper pattern and eligibility and the process would remain the same. The only change expected is that AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS examination would be discontinued for undergraduate medical/dental entrance examination.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister of Health and Family Welfare, mentioned that under the NMC Act, admission to AIIMS and JIPMER MBBS courses would also be applicable to a single national level examination–NEET. It would also be possible to implement one common counseling as early as next year.

On a positive note, it is expected that NMC will also regulate the medical examination fees across the country’s various private medical colleges. There is still to be released the exact framework. However, even in private medical colleges, the NMC makes provision to regulate 50% of all seats.

The NEET 2020 age limit remains. Please note that there is no official announcement about the NEET 2020 exam and any changes due to the discontinuation of the AIIMS MBBS 2020 exam. All aspirants are hence advised to check for updates on NEET 2020 on the official website nta.ac.in as well as neet.nta.nic.in.

Everyone who wants to apply for and pursue medicine abroad must also appear and qualify for the NEET 2020 exam. You must be put in the 50 percentile level to apply. The mandatory certification from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, would only be given to those candidates who have qualified for the NEET 2020 exam.

There are also suggestions that NEET undergraduate exam can be carried out twice a year form next year – similar to the JEE examination for engineering admissions.

As per the NMC Act 2019, the final year examination of all medical courses would be a national entrance examination for MD, MDS, MS courses as well as a licentiate examination. For all students who are planning to start their MBBS or BDS courses over the next few years, this is an important change that they should be aware of.

The importance of the decision is especially important for the candidates who are now restricted to appear for NEET examination due to the age limit. There is no upper age limit for AIIMS MBBS examination with the removal of AIIMS MBBS entrance exam and the political elite of NEET as the only medical and dental admissions entrance exam in the country.

All students are often advised to check the NEET 2020 notification that will be released by December 1, 2019, by the National Testing Agency. The registration process would start from December 2 on the official website. It is important to note that the examination dates for AIIMS MBBS 2020 have not yet been released.

NEET students must refer to the free NEET online mock tests available for all. Students can do a lot of online tests and get instant results to verify their understanding and preparation for the upcoming NEET exams.
