CBSE Recommends Arogya Setu App, Writes To School Principals

Written recommendation from CBSE to school principals for initiating the Arogya Setu App!

New Delhi:  The Central Board of Secondary Education has advised all school principals through a written communication recommending the “Arogya Setu App” and Health Ministry's protocol for Immunity Boosting. The MHRD Secretary informed the Government Organizations and bodies like UGC, NIOS, etc., about the recommended application and the CBSE's letter came just after that reassuring the same. CBSE has also appealed school principals to notify their teachers, students and staff members accordingly about this important application in these current critical times of epidemic.

The Arogya Setu Application is a computer-generated diagnostic centre in your pocket that is going to keep India well-informed of the hazards of exposure to the coronavirus and empower one to take precautionary measures to guard oneself and all our loved ones.

The Arogya Setu app is accessible on Android devices as well as iOS devices and can also be downloaded on both. The App has been established by the Government of India in public and private partnership in the battle against Covid-19. This application is developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to empower people to self-evaluate, understand and prevent them from the risk of catching the Corona Virus infection.

The Ministry of Ayush has established a protocol document for immunity boosting which the Central Board of Secondary Education has shared along with the Arogya Setu App. The particulars of the document are being explained to the students by the teachers through the communication channels available to them online.

As learning of togetherness and Unity at this difficult time of the epidemic, CBSE had asked students to light a lamp, Diya, candle or flash the torch of their mobile for 9 minutes at 9 pm on April 5, 2020. This was an act initiated by our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Damodardas Modi to facilitate every individual to experience the strength of the entire Country Standing together with one thought in this fight against COVID-19.

This act was followed by the students along with the entire country in the Great Spirit.

A documentary written by CBSE to all school principals was issued to recommend the Arogya Setu App and Health Ministry's protocol for immunity boosting. CBSE expressed the importance of it for the students, especially at this critical time of Health Emergency worldwide.

The Government application Arogya Setu warns the user when he comes in contact with anyone infected with the coronavirus. The application uses the Bluetooth, location and mobile number of the user’s phone to check whether it has come in contact with any COVID-19 positive person.

The board had issued a circular and requested school principals and teachers to enlighten students about the measures recommended by the board as per the given deadline.

A 21-Day Lockdown has been imposed in the country since March 25, 2020. The lockdown period will conclude on April 14, 2020.

On the same ground, the Board has decided to organize the pending Board Exams of Class X and XII for the main subjects only. According to the Board and the Education Ministry, the main subjects are those which are necessary for the promotion and critical for admission in Institutions for higher education. The Board Examination Dates will be announced at least 10 days in advance, as declared by CBSE.
