To encourage teachers to work as first-level counselors in schools, there is a proposal to provide funds to States / UTs in the current financial year 2019-2020. Apart from this, state-specific projects are funded to address the issues of teenage children.

CBSE wants to implement experiential learning in all the affiliated schools under its ambit. The steps have been taken up by the board to conduct a curriculum in a student-centric manner. Teachers have been advised to follow the inclusive principles and not to label children as students who are slow or labeled as bright students.

Moreover, from the 2019-2020 session onwards CBSE has introduced experiential learning. Accordingly, the schools make plans of curricular activities in such a way that they enable students to connect their learning areas and subjects with their own lives and the world around them.

All the changes by NCERT help the teachers in their teaching, learning in the desired manner and make other associates responsible for their role for ensuring quality education. In order to encourage life skills and value education, CBSE has linked Health and Physical education with academics. Each school offers one period per day for sports, which leads to stress buster for children and also creates a better environment for learning.

Concerns for health and well-being have been taken in chapter 3 of the psychology textbook of Class 12 on "Meeting Life Challenges", which attempts to provide the student with the aspects and factors of stress and the development of positive health.

NCERT, through its adolescent education program, tries to develop life skills in those students who are in this critical phase of their lives. NCF, 2005 advocates facilitating healthy development and development of students in all school stages and there is scope for guidance/consultation in each of these schools from elementary to higher secondary stages.

The NCF has expressed concern about tackling stress-related problems and providing guidance and counseling in schools to guide students, parents and teachers to reduce the tension of the students. It emphasizes the need to provide guidance and counseling by trained professionals to create support systems specifically to meet academic and social pressures.
