JEE Entrance exam is conducted for students who wish to pursue engineering in different subjects or categories like mechanical, CS, etc.. It is officially organized and conducted by NTA.
Formerly it was organized by CBSE. It avails seats for students in IITs, NITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions.

JEE Entrance Exam 2020: Major Changes
JEE Entrance is enlisted under one of the most important competitions and is organized in other countries as well. With the increase in the number of candidates appearing along with the competition, some changes are essential. Last year's easy question paper and disregard of students for not getting good college in spite of good results triggered the need for alteration.
Accordingly following evident changes are presented in the curriculum of conducting JEE entrance:
- 1st tier of examination- JEE mains twice according to NTA.
- For candidates who are applying, it is not mandatory to appear in both the exams.
- If the candidate appears in both the exam of JEE Mains then the best out of two scores will be considered.
- Numerical Value Questions are included in all the subjects - Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics.
- The pattern and number of questions are revised. Alongside the number of questions are also amended.
- Subdivision of papers is also introduced.
JEE Entrance: Alteration in the exam pattern
Along with the change in the exam procedure, the exam pattern is also revised. Among them the major changes are given below:
- In JEE Entrance 2019 the number of questions asked was 90 and the total number of questions was 90.
- But now in JEE entrance, 2020 number questions will be 75 and total marks- 300.
- Each question carries 4 marks. Each correct answer will be alotted with 4 marks and every wrong answer will cause deduction of 1 marks.
- From 2020 JEE each subject will have 20 questions including 5 numerical value questions. In total each subject will contain 25 questions.
- Exam duration - 3 hours for 75 questions.
