As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Museums Division of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India is celebrating International Museum Day. The International Council of Museums (ICOM) theme for this year is ‘Museums, Sustainability and Well Being’.
The Ministry of Culture is organizing a three-day International Museum Expo 2023 to be held from 18th to 20th May 2023 at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The Museum Expo is designed to initiate a holistic conservation on Museums to enable them to evolve as cultural centres that play a pivotal role in India’s cultural diplomacy, in a year where India holds the G-20 Presidency.
In view of above, following may be noted:
1. All the schools may celebrate ‘International Museum Day’ in their campus by organizing various activities such as quiz competition, poster making competition, essay writing competition etc. Further, schools may organize student tours to visit nearest museum.
2. The schools located in Delhi-NCR area may also plan a visit of students and teachers to this Museum Expo from 18th to 20th May 2023 to be organized at Pragati Maidan, Delhi.
