The CBSE-i curriculum was initiated as a pilot project in the session 2010-11. In the course of time, several issues relating to operational difficulties, including availability of quality reading material of global standard, were noticed . In the light of this, the matter of continuity of CBSE-i curriculum as pilot project was taken up for a detailed discussion in the meeting of the Curriculum Committee held in December 2016. Subsequently, the decision of the Curriculum Committee was also discussed in the meeting of the Governing Body of the Board. It was resolved to have a comprehensive review of the pilot project of CBSE-i curriculum by a Government Consultancy Organisation. This being the position, the schools presently offering CBSE-i curriculum (or intending to offer the CBSE-i curriculum from the session 2017-18 ) may carefully note the following decision for strict compliance:
Category of the school | Action for Compliance |
CBSE affiliated schools, located abroad, having approval for CBSE-i curriculum and offering CBSE-i curriculum in their campus for the approved CBSE-i curriculum classes on pilot basis.
| They are directed not to offer CBSE- i curriculum henceforth from the session 2017-18. Consequently, affected students of such schools on their promotion to next class (after the end of existing term) would be shifted to CBSE main curriculum
|
The schools located abroad but not affiliated with the CBSE but approved for offering CBSE-i Curriculum on pilot basis for the approved CBSE-i curriculum classes
| The permission to implement CBSE-i curriculum. Stands withdrawn i.e. 2017-18. The schools are directed not to use the name and logo of CBSE in any form. However, they are at liberty to seek regular CBSE affiliation for offering CBSE main curriculum.
