Unseen Prose Passages (अपठित गद्यांश)

Unseen (अपठित) शब्द का अर्थ है-जो कभी पढ़ा नहीं गया और जो course (पाठ्यक्रम) से जुड़ा नहीं है। तथा अचानक ही हमें पढ़ने के लिए दिया गया हो। Unseen Passages (अपठित गद्यांश) में Prose Passages (गद्यांश) से संबंधित विभिन्न प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने के लिए कहा जाता है। इस प्रकार इस विषय में यह अपेक्षा की जाती है कि पाठक दिए गए गद्यांश को ध्यानपूर्वक पढ़कर उससे संबद्ध या संबंधित प्रश्नों के उत्तर उसी अनुच्छेद के आधार पर संक्षिप्त रूप में प्रस्तुत करें। प्रश्नों के उत्तर पाठक को स्वयं अपनी भाषा-शैली में देने होते हैं।

Unseen Prose Passages (अपठित गद्यांश) की सहायता से पाठक की personal ability (व्यक्तिगत योग्यता) और power of expression (अभिव्यक्ति क्षमता) का पता लगाया जाता है। अपठित का कोई क्षेत्र नहीं होता। Arts (कला), Science (विज्ञान), Politics (राजनीति), Literature (साहित्य) या Economics (अर्थशास्त्र)-किसी भी Subjects (विषयों) पर Prose passages (गद्यांश) हो सकता है। RBSE के प्रश्न-पत्र में केवल Factual (तथ्यात्मक) और Literary (साहित्य) से संबंधित Unseen Prose Passages (अपठित गद्यांश) पूछे जायेंगे। जैसे-Subjects (विषयों) के Regular practice (निरंतर अभ्यास) एवं प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने से the level of our mental ability (हमारा मानसिक स्तर) उन्नत होता है। Our power of expression (हमारी अभिव्यक्ति क्षमता) का विकास होता है।
