Traditional Foods 

Objectives

• Students will be able to list some traditional foods of Ethiopia.

• Students will be able to know different eating styles of Ethiopians and Chinese.

Every country has traditional food, clothing and celebration. Some Ethiopian traditional foods are:

• Ingera

• Doro wot

• Tihlo

• Chiko

• Kitfo etc

People eat injera and wot by five fingers of their right hand. In china, people eat their meals using sticks which are called chopsticks.

Traditional celebrations

Celebration is a small party where people get together to enjoy and have fun. Some traditional celebrations are listed below.

• Ethiopian Ester or Fasika

• Ethiopian new year or Enkutatash

• Mewlid

• Ed Al Fetir

• Meskel etc.
