Ban the “(Retard) R” Word for Challenged persons

Special Olympics Bharat is a National Sports Federation, recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India for providing sports opportunities to children/persons with Intellectual Disability. An Awareness Campaign to Ban the “(Retard) R word” has been launched by Special Olympics Bharat to stop the usage of “Retard” word or its equivalent in any Indian language for persons with Intellectual Disability. This Signature Campaign has been turned into competition by Intel. The prizes are: 1. Every school that brings in 5000 signatures would get a Certificate of Merit signed by Chairman, Special Olympics Bharat and Intel Director, South Asia. 2. The school that brings the maximum signatures from each state will get a Certificate and an Invitation to the Prize Distribution Function on 16th Oct 2010 at Bangalore. 3. The School that brings in the Maximum signatures would get the Eunice Shriver Rolling Trophy from Pan India, and a cash prize of One Hundred Thousand Rupees & Certificate of Merit from Intel. CBSE invites all the schools affiliated to the CBSE Board to participate in the competition by getting maximum signatures. Find below the Sample Signature sheet for your reference. The signature sheets should reach to The National Director, Special Olympics Bharat, E -26, Lower Ground Floor, Lajpat Nagar – III, New Delhi – 110024 latest by 30th September 2010.
