Your name is very important to you. It tells people who you are. In India, many names have meanings that tell us about good qualities.

Remember: Your name is like a label. But you are more than just your label. Your actions, feelings, and thoughts make you unique.

Points to Remember

Your name is given by your parents.

You are the same person even if you have a different name.

My Portrait

Draw any picture that you think describes YOU. It could be a sketch, an animal, a thing or anything abstract.

Write down a couple of lines to describe why you chose this portrait.

My Personal Experiences

Some events or incidents, places you visit, books you read, movies you watch have a deep impact on your life. These are called experiences.

Identify at least three experiences in your life. They can be good or bad. For example: watching a movie based on a sports person, birth of your baby brother or sister, your parents helping somebody in need, or having met with an accident.

Or you can identify any other experience which is important for YOU.

What you learn from your experiences helps to shape your personality. Now think and write what you learnt from each of them.

Our experiences shape who we are. When you watch a good sports movie or help someone, you learn something new. These lessons become part of your personality, just like how your grandmother's recipes become part of your family.
