1. Name the following shapes.

Shapes are all around us. A book is a rectangle. A ball is a circle. Your pencil is a line when you look at it from far away.

Remember the shapes by counting sides. A square has 4 sides. A triangle has 3 sides. A circle has 0 sides.

2. Read the following map.

This is a map of a garden. It shows where different things are in the garden.

The index on the left side tells us what each shape means.

Circle means fountain.

Green circle means bushes.

Triangle means trees.

VV means lawn.

Yellow rectangle means slides.

U shape means swings.

Pink square means canteen.

Black dot means garbage bin.

Purple square means toilets.

Star means rocket.

Circle with line means banyan tree and platform.

Pink semicircle means stalls.
