The circular issued by CBSE states” Hence, it is clarified that students who had registered for Language-III (as per scheme of studies) as the seventh subject along with 6th additional vocational subject under NSQF scheme in class 9 in 2016-17, will continue with seven subjects and appear for class 10 board examination in 2017-18 as per the re-modelled assessment scheme”.
It also noted that from 2017-18 all other schools who wish to offer vocational subjects in class 9 must get their students registered, "Vocational subject and language-III shall be strictly treated as optional additional subjects and may be introduced only if the schools wish to offer it” it read.
