हिन्दी अनुवाद- चंद्र शेखर आजाद, जिन्हें आज़ाद के नाम से जाना जाता है, भारत के सबसे निडर और महानतम स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों में से एक थे। पंडित सीता राम तिवारी और जागरानी देवी के पुत्र, आज़ाद का जन्म 23 जुलाई 1906 में मध्य प्रदेश के झबुआ जिले के भाबरा गाँव में हुआ ।

उनकी प्रारंभिक शिक्षा भाबरा में हुई । शिक्षा के लिए वे वाराणसी की सस्कृत पाठशाला में गए। वे हनुमान जी के महान पुजारी थे। एक बार ब्रिटिश पुलिस की गिरफ्त से बचने के लिए उन्होंने एक हनुमान मंदिर के पुजारी का वेश बदला।

1920-21 के अंहिसात्मक, असहयोग आंदोलन, जिसके प्रमुख नेता महात्मा गाँधी थे, ने युवा चंद्र शेखर को आकर्षित किया। उन्होंने आंदोलन में भाग लिया और उन्हें गिरफ्तार करके मैजिस्ट्रेट के पास पेश किया गया। उन्होंने अपना नाम 'आज़ाद', अपने पिता का नाम 'स्वतंत्र' और अपनी पता 'जेल' बताया। इससे मैजिस्ट्रेट भड़क गया और उसे पढूंह कोड़ो की सजा मिली। तभी से ही उनका नाम 'आज़ाद' पड़ गया ।
