1. Write about the physical features of Oman.
• Highlands: The Hajar mountains range runs parallel to the Northern coast. The highest range is the Jabal-Al Akhdar. The highest peak is the Jabal-Al Shams.
• Plains: Al Batinah, a narrow coastal plain runs along the Gulf of Oman. It is a fertile region where date palms grow.
2. Describe the dress of the people of Oman.
• The men wear long robes called ‘Dish dasha” and caps (kumah) or turbans.
• The women wear salwar kameez and Abaya. They also cover their head.
3. What are the two most important festivals celebrated by the people of Oman?
• Eid-Ul-Fitr: A festival celebrated after the completion of fasting, at the end of the Ramadan month.
• Eid-Ul-Adha: The festival of sacrifice. In India it is known as Bakri-Eid.
