अर्थ – चूहा-अरे! जंगल। यहाँ पेड़ हैं। शेर यहाँ सो रहा है। चूहा शेर के शरीर पर चढ़ता है और कूदता है। शेर (गुस्से से) आँऽऽऽ ओंऽऽ तेरा ऐसा दुःसाहस? मैं तुझे दण्ड देता हूँ। चूहा- चूँ चूँ। महाराज । मैं छोटा हूँ। मैं आपका सेवक हूँ। आप मेरे राजा हैं। मुझे छोड़ दीजिए। शेर चूहे को छोड़ देता है। कुछ समय बाद शेर, जाल में बँधा हुआ है। शेर गुस्से से गर्जना करता है। आँऽऽ ऊऽऽ चूहा उस (शेर) की गर्जना सुनता है और बिल से बाहर आ जाता है। चूहा-अरे! शेर जाल में बँधा हुआ है। मैं जाल काट देता हूँ। चूहा जाल काट देता है। तुम मेरे प्रिय मित्र हो । समय आने पर छोटा भी सहायक होता (हो सकता) है।
